Alex. UG Senior: LSA | Political Science

Scrapbook with Polaroid style layout, shows man with arms crossed in front of trees..Hi everyone! This summer, I’m taking classes online and staying home, so I’m using this season as a chance to focus on my academics, build better routines, and keep working on myself.

As a Resource Navigator, I’m excited to continue learning more about campus resources and helping students find the support, people, and spaces they need at Michigan. Even though I’ll be taking classes remotely, I still want to stay connected to campus and contribute to the U-M community in a meaningful way.

Outside of school and work, I’m planning to use the summer to reset and grow. I want to stay consistent with my classes, go to the gym, spend time with family, and build habits that will help me in the future. For breaks, I’ll probably take walks, enjoy the weather, catch up with friends, and give myself time to relax without losing focus on my goals.

Anya. G Masters: Engineering | Manufacturing

Currently, I'm a Master’s student in the manufacturing engineering program (graduating Dec. ‘26). I also received my undergraduate degree from the U-M, majoring in mechanical engineering with a concentration in manufacturing (F25 semester). I am a Cook Scholar who graduated from Byron in ‘22. I enjoy making art, mainly fiber arts like crochet, sewing, or knitting, but you can also occasionally find me painting, dancing, or scribbling on my tablet. I also enjoy baking, playing cozy games, and exploring Ann Arbor. This is my first semester as a part of the Resource Navigator team and I am excited to see what we get up to this spring and summer!

On campus this summer I am completing my capstone project for my degree by doing research analyzing the plastics outputted during the automotive shredding (disassembly) process and evaluating different recycling pathways for these plastics.

This summer, you will catch me taking breaks crocheting or knitting in my papasan chair while watching a movie, TV show, or YouTube. I also plan on spending more time outdoors, whether sitting on my porch crafting or doing something more adventurous like playing basketball, kayaking, or taking a nature walk. My goals this summer are to improve my spoken Spanish in preparation for my mission trip to Guatemala in August and grow radishes in my porch garden!

I've been part of the Resource Navigator team for one year, and this experience has helped me learn more about the many resources, support systems, and communities available across campus. Through this role, I have enjoyed helping students find the right people, spaces, and information they need at Michigan. I enjoy being part of a team that makes campus easier to navigate, especially for students who may not know where to start. This summer, I will be in Ann Arbor doing AI research while continuing to stay involved with the Resource Navigator team and the U-M community.

Outside of school, research, and work, I enjoy playing and watching soccer. I also like spending time with friends, exploring Ann Arbor, and finding good places to relax after a busy week. This summer, I hope to keep improving my communication skills, learn more from my AI research experience, and continue growing through my work.
