With Halloween swiftly approaching, we have some fun Michigan-themed costumes that will help any Wolverine win the “Best Costume” Award. Our creative costumes will help you make plenty of new friends this spooky Halloween.
1. Jim Harbaugh
Pay tribute to the man who has taken Ann Arbor by storm. Just pull out some khakis, a Michigan sweater, and a Michigan hat--and voila! If you are feeling crafty, make a headset out of duct tape and some wire, and be sure to hunch over with your hands on your knees every once in a while (the Harbaugh Hunch).
2. Michigan Squirrel
You have to love those chubby, friendly, Michigan squirrels! Wear brown, secure some paper ears to a headband, and, if you have some, create a tail with cardboard. Use this as an opportunity to munch all night and carry around some peanuts.
3. Mojo Cookie
If you want everyone’s eyes on you, then you have to dress up as a scrumptious Mojo Cookie. Everyone will be drooling over you. I recommend the chocolate chip look.
4. Blue Bus
This will take a little work but will totally be a crowd pleaser. Get a group of friends to paint some matching cardboard boxes maize and blue, and you can roll in to the Halloween festivities like the magic school bus (literally)!
5. Natalie M-Card
Bring out your crafting skills and recreate a large M-card with yellow poster board. Complete it with a square hole for your own face. Pay tribute to Natalie’s beautiful smile, by showing off your best smile.
6. Michigan Super Fan
You still have those pom poms from your first Michigan game, right? Now is the time to break them out as well as all of your other outrageous gear! Paint your face maize and blue, wear those striped overalls, shake those poms, and you’re ready to go! You can’t go wrong with game day gear!
I hope you enjoyed these ideas. If you use any of these Michigan-themed costumes or create your own, tweet @umichcampusinfo and use #umichhalloween to show them off! Remember to be respectful, be safe, and go blue!
