Victor Views on Lost and Found

Two Michigan hats, a sweatshirt, and a necklace from the League lost and found

With the end of the semester and all of the craziness that it brings, some students would swear that they’d lose their head if it wasn’t attached. While we’ve never had a head turned in, since 2016, we have had over 8,000 items turned into our Lost and Found systems.

For those who don’t know, the Campus Information desks not only answer questions, but they also manage the Lost and Found for Pierpont Commons, the League, and the Union! If you have lost something in one of these buildings, the best place to look is our Crowdfind website! You can see if your item has been logged into our system and come to the desk to come pick it up. You would be shocked to know how many items get turned in. Since 2016, we have had over 8,000 items turned in.

Most Common Lost Items:

  1. M Cards

  2. Airpod cases or singular Airpods

  3. Chargers

  4. Water Bottles

  5. Glasses or Sunglasses

Funniest and Most Uncommon Items:

  1. Electric Razor (Maybe someone had a job interview and wanted to have that freshly shaved look?)

  2. Groceries

  3. An entire outfit (If this person lost their clothes, what did they wear to walk home?)

  4. Air Mattress Pump (Sleepovers in the League, anyone?)

  5. Winter Coat (Really hoping that this person didn’t walk home without a coat on since it was turned in during December)

  6. Water Shoes (Not sure where you can use water shoes at the League when it’s 45 degrees out?)

Before you head back to your hometowns and have to answer to your loved ones and their rules again, make sure you have all of your belongings! While we cannot wait to have you visit us at the desks after break, we cannot ensure that your items will be here when you return. Contact us if you have any questions.

Note: Items of high value (laptops, phones, and wallets) are turned into DPSS within an hour of the item being turned in. Items of lesser value are kept in our lost and found cabinets for 30 days before being donated. Please also note that we only manage the Lost and Found for Pierpont, the League, and the Union. If you lost an item in a different building or on the street, please contact DPSS or the building that you lost it in!
